Beginner: Quick Guidelines on How To Make A Movie Review

image

So before I make a movie review in my blog, I tried to have a little research about How to Make or Write A Movie Review, with the use of the internet. By the way, it is important that we know first what is a Movie Review.

Movie Review. It is the evaluation of the film or movie in which the opinion of the critic is highly expressed to inform, to entertain, and sometimes to encourage or to discourage the future audiences.

Whether the film totally sucks or brilliantly made, it should have a reasoned opinion but it will depend to the movie critic himself.

Yes! I found out lots of important information and there are common things that I noticed after reading it all. The steps below is just a summary of all and I want to call it the "Quick Movie Review"

First. The first thing that we should have to do when making a movie review is to know a bit of the movie of course. You have to know first the director, the genre of the film and the casts (the lead actors or characters), etc before you watch it. I prefer that we have known a little BEFORE watching it. You have to take note of the director's style. Knowing some of the previous movies the director has directed will help you familiarize his/her style and thus, will help you to get what the director wants to express in each and every scene of the movie.

Second. Before you begin to watch the film you choose, please provide a notepad or have something to for jotting down notes. In our generation we could use our mobile phones to write the key points hurriedly. The movie is long and it is important that we have something to write on. Thus, we already know the fact that we could not remember all the details without jotting it down.

Third. During the film, do not stick to only one category. For example, you are taking notes about the actors only. No! There's a lot of things to look at such as the scene, the setting of each scene, the script and how it was delivered, the story of the movie and so on and so forth. Sometimes it includes the dresses worn by each actor. It is better to think the significant correlation of everything you see on the movie and if that so, you can create a movie review that is persuasive to the filmgoer. To have more idea, the following mechanics should be considered when making a review.

Cinematography - Were all the scenes gone smoothly from one place to another? It is the motion of the film that we should be aware of.

Direction - did the director express the thought in each scene? It is the way that all the elements of the movie correlate or complement to.

Script - Were the lines delivered superbly? Did the actors kill or nail the lines? It is where the script is also criticized and marked as excellent or sometimes terrible.

Setting - Were the place where the scene was captured or shot, wonderful? It is where the scene took place.

Costume Design - look for the costumes or clothing worn by the characters. Were the costumes fit for every scene and for the whole film?

** You have to deal with that mechanism for you to give a score based on all elements.

As what I have said, a movie review will depend on the critique. We still have different opinions about it. It is just a guideline or let's just simply say "why to go" or "why not to go" guidelines. Critics are harsh. They will tell all what they have seen and judge it according to their standards. Just follow the rules and you will see the true beauty of the film you are going to watch.
